New SCML provider says he knows the "challenges" the institution faces
The new provider of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (SCML) said today that he is aware of the challenges that the institution faces, after the Minister of Labour reiterated that he is the best choice in the face of "serious challenges".

The inauguration ceremony of Paulo Duarte Sousa took place this afternoon in Lisbon, in the presence of the prime minister, Luís Montenegro, with the new chairman of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa having stated that he assumes his new duties with "pride and a sense of responsibility".
"Pride because the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa is an institution of inestimable public utility and with a mission to bring wellbeing to people, especially the most vulnerable", he stated.
On the other hand, he said that he is aware of the "challenges that the institution faces", committing to honouring its historical legacy and showing dedication to the employees and to the various teams.
The Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, Maria do Rosário Palma Ramalho stressed that the economist was the government's choice due to his "vast professional experience, but also with proven results in the social area".
In the words of the minister, the institution "begins a new cycle in its leadership", with more transparent management.
