Preventive for man accused of domestic violence against mother and sister
A 34-year-old man was placed in preventive detention, accused of domestic violence against his mother, who is ill and physically disabled, and his sister, who were subjected to constant insults and threats, including to their lives, the Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) said today.

According to a statement from the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action (DIAP) in Lisbon, the man was arrested on Friday, May 17, outside of flagrante delicto, and presented for the first judicial interrogation, and preventive detention and a ban on contact with the victims were decreed.
The detainee is accused of "strong evidence of the practice of a crime of domestic violence against his mother and a crime of aggravated threat against his sister", said the DIAP in Lisbon.
The statement specifies that "there is strong evidence that the defendant, who lives with the victims, has subjected his 75-year-old mother, a person with reduced mobility and with several illnesses resulting from her advanced age, to constant offenses against her physical integrity and insults" and that there is also "evidence that the defendant subjected both victims to constant threats that even went as far as threats against their lives".
The investigation is being led by the Integrated Specialized Section for Domestic Violence in Lisbon (SEIVD in Lisbon).
