Rent a bike and sell it online (but they had already issued an arrest warrant)

A 49-year-old man was arrested on May 17 after renting a bicycle and putting it up for sale on an online platform in the municipality of Lisbon. However, the individual was subject to an arrest warrant for illicit activities of the same nature.
The arrest occurred following a complaint filed by the owner of a bicycle rental shop in Sintra, detailed the National Republican Guard (GNR), in a statement.
The authorities found that the man "had rented a bicycle in the aforementioned shop, having sold it later on an online platform".
"Following the inquiries, the Guard's military located the suspect, having found that the man had an arrest warrant pending for serving a two-year effective prison sentence for the practice of qualified theft crime", the note added.
However, the GNR managed to recover the stolen bicycle, as well as "other equipment that was in the suspect's possession, due to being related to illicit activities of a similar nature".
The subject, who already had a criminal record for illicit activities of the same nature, was taken to the Estabelecimento Prisional de Lisboa to serve the prison sentence to which he had been sentenced.
This was an action of the Lisbon Territorial Command, through the Criminal Investigation Unit (NIC).
