Santo Tirso Emergency Department was closed at night because the doctor was absent
The emergency room at the hospital in Santo Tirso did not operate between midnight and 8am today, because the doctor who was supposed to be on duty failed to show up, said a source from the Unidade Local de Saúde do Médio Ave.

According to the source, the operation resumed normally at 08:00.
The source added that the Urgent Patient Guidance Centre (CODU) and the firefighters were notified, so the patients were sent directly to the emergency room of the Vila Nova de Famalicão hospital.
Also according to the same source, during the night period
"Few patients are seen" in Santo Tirso, and it was ensured "that all were seen" in Famalicão.
The Médio Ave Local Health Unit is composed of the hospitals of Santo Tirso and Famalicão and the health centers of Centro de Saúde de Negrelos, Santo Tirso, Trofa and Famalicão.
