With the theme "Literary Speeches", more than a dozen authors will be present, in activities throughout the municipality aimed at schools and the community, with meetings with writers also planned in villages and prisons.

One of the objectives of this festival is to create "an intercultural bridge that provides a knowledge instruction to leverage the concept of freedom of communication", explained the organization, in a written note.

"Writers, photographers, literary critics, as well as officers and combatants who are still living witnesses of that day [April 25] are invited to this edition. With this program, we intend to remember the past, reflect on the present and project the future. Nothing seems more important to us than freedom of expression and literature has this great design", stressed Avelina Ferraz, from the organization.

Names such as Alice Vieira, Patrícia Reis, Lídia Praça, Estefânia Surreira, Guadalupe Portelinha, Fernando Pinto do Amaral, João Reis and Vasco Lourenço will be present. The event also features writers from the Paraense Academy of Letters, from Brazil, and associates of the Academy of Letters of Trás-os-Montes, who "will have the mission of decentralizing literature", according to the organization.

The festival's program includes actions in the municipality of Bragança, in schools of various levels of education, social solidarity institutions, the prisons of Bragança and Izeda and in rural areas.

In the parish of Rebordãos, a meeting will take place where Alice Vieira will be honored, celebrating 45 years of literary work.

The pre-launch of the book "50 Nights of April", by Lídia Praça, with a presentation by Vasco Lourenço, is scheduled for Thursday.

The festival is promoted by the municipality of Bragança and by the Academy of Letters of Trás-os-Montes, with the production of Editorial Novembro.
