IPSS do Porto will offer 100 books to pediatric wards of eight hospitals
A Ajudaris, a Private Institution of Social Solidarity (IPSS) with a social and humanitarian nature in Porto, will deliver 100 books to the pediatric wards of eight Portuguese hospitals, within the scope of World Children's Day, the president revealed today to Lusa.

According to Rosa Mendes, the delivery of the books is scheduled for June 3 at the hospitals of Beja, Chaves, Vila Franca de Xira, Horta and Terceira, both in the Azores, Santarém, Abrantes, Setúbal, as well as in two family health units, one in Vila do Conde and another in Póvoa de Varzim.
The leader of that IPSS explained that these are "books with stories created by other children, in schools and in associations, with themes related to sustainability and family, and in which literacy, inclusion and citizenship are promoted, with the support of solidarity teachers", she described.
"With this project, we have three objectives: to celebrate World Children's Day with the delivery of books for children who are hospitalized, to offer bookmarks, in origami format, thus opening the opportunity for volunteers and children to discover the hidden animal, and that they become co-authors of stories for Ajudaris' next book", she added.
For the operation of delivering the 100 books, the IPSS launched an online fundraising campaign, expecting to raise the necessary 1,653 euros by the end of the month.
The campaign is called "Together creating happy stories" and takes place within the scope of the collection "Ajudaris' Stories" (...) written by young authors from various parts of the country and from Portuguese communities such as Switzerland, Germany and São Tomé and Príncipe, among others", we read on the initiative's page.
