A month before the beginning of summer, the rain still 'gifts' May in several locations of the country, but on Wednesday, the 'blessed' regions should be fewer.

According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA), rain and light showers are expected to fall in the districts of Viana do Castelo, Porto, Braga and Leiria. Besides the mainland, the archipelago of the Azores should also have showers falling in all its islands.

According to the IPMA website, although there is less rain expected for Wednesday, the sky will have more clouds.

As for the temperature, despite the rain in the Azores, the maximum temperatures should be around 23ºC, in Horta. In the archipelago of Madeira, the maximum temperatures should reach 24ºC, in Funchal.

On the mainland, the maximum temperatures will vary more than ten degrees Celsius throughout the national territory. According to the IPMA meteorologists, the Algarve will be the region where the temperatures will be higher, with the district of Faro reaching 27ºC - and the Algarve sky being slightly cloudy.

In the Alentejo, where temperatures are usually the warmest, the temperature will be 'average', with the maximums reaching 24ºC in the districts of Beja and Évora, and with Portalegre registering a colder maximum, 19ºC.

The district where the thermometers will be lower is Guarda, with temperatures varying between 5ºC and 15ºC. In the North, Braga will be the district in the region where it will be warmer, with 20ºC.

In Porto, in addition to the rain, 17ºC should be registered as a maximum, and 11ºC as a minimum. In the capital, the minimum temperatures will be higher than in the North, with Lisbon registering, at least, 14ºC, and at most 22ºC.
