Leaving the meeting with PS Secretary-General Pedro Nuno Santos, in Lisbon, which served to present the conclusions of the 15th CGTP Congress, Tiago Oliveira stated: "We could not fail to say that the PS government had all the conditions to go much further in the policies it carried out and that would allow us to overcome many of the difficulties we feel today".

The union leader also spoke about the main concerns that were presented, namely precariousness, working hours, the growing attack on collective bargaining and what is happening today in public services.

This is a set of issues that were discussed at the 15th CGTP Congress and the trade union centre is holding meetings with the various parties, stressed the CGTP leader.

Tiago Oliveira also spoke about young people who are now faced with "increasingly degrading living conditions", which makes it "more difficult to have a stable life" and with prospects for the future.

The concerns presented also include the defence of collective bargaining and negotiation, as well as the state of public services and the sustainability of Social Security and the National Health Service (SNS), in addition to public schools.

On Monday, the CGTP announced a week of action between June 20 and 27, in defence of better wages, reduced working hours and the maintenance of rights.

The CGTP advocates raising the national minimum wage to 1,000 euros this year, setting 35 hours as the maximum weekly working limit, as well as salary increases of 15% with a minimum of 150 euros.
