44-year-old man dies after collision on the EN 4 in the Arraiolos area
A 44-year-old man died today following a collision on the National Road (EN) 4, near Vimieiro, in the municipality of Arraiolos (Évora), sources from the Civil Protection and the GNR told the Lusa agency.

A source from the Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of Central Alentejo indicated that the accident involved a heavy goods vehicle and a light passenger vehicle, initially causing "a trapped victim", who ended up dying.
The accident occurred at 2:18 pm and forced the closure of the EN4 in both directions.
A source from the GNR's Évora Territorial Command told Lusa, at 5:10 pm, that the EN 4 was still closed to traffic.
According to the sub-regional command, 44 firefighters from Arraiolos and Estremoz, INEM and GNR were mobilized to the site, supported by 13 vehicles, including the Emergency Medical and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) from Évora and an Immediate Life Support ambulance (SIV) from Estremoz and a helicopter.
