Preventive detention for man who threatened woman with weapons in Grândola

A 59-year-old man will await trial for the crime of domestic violence against his partner in preventive detention. The suspect was arrested by the National Republican Guard (GNR) on Tuesday, in the municipality of Grândola.
In a statement sent to the newsrooms this Thursday, the GNR states that it received a report of domestic violence and that, after that, the military found that the "suspect exercised physical violence, psychological violence and threats, using a firearm against the victim, his wife, aged 50".
The military seized two shotguns, a carbine and several knives.
The GNR recalled that "domestic violence is a public crime and reporting it is a collective responsibility".
