Montenegro on 1st visit to Germany to strengthen bilateral cooperation
Prime Minister Luís Montenegro travels today to Berlin, on his first official trip to Germany since taking office, for a meeting with Chancellor Olaf Scholz that aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

A source in the Prime Minister's Office told Lusa that this second visit by Montenegro to a European country after taking office aims to plan the priority areas for strengthening bilateral cooperation at a political, economic, cultural and scientific level for the coming years.
The same source added that the meeting will also serve to address prominent issues on the European and international agenda, with a focus on preparing for the next European political cycle, as well as the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East.
The Prime Minister is expected to arrive at the Federal Chancellery at 11:30 am (one hour less in mainland Portugal). After the meeting with Chancellor Olaf Scholz, a joint press conference by the two leaders of the Portuguese and German governments is scheduled.
Luís Montenegro's first official visit was to Spain for a meeting with the President of the Madrid executive, Pedro Sánchez, at the Moncloa Palace.
