Seven islands in the Azores under yellow warning due to sometimes heavy rain

The Portuguese Sea and Atmosphere Institute (IPMA) has placed the islands of the Oriental and Central groups of the Azores under yellow warning, between today and Wednesday, due to sometimes heavy rain.

According to the IPMA bulletin, in the islands of São Miguel and Santa Maria, which make up the Eastern group, the yellow warning for precipitation is valid between 10:00 pm today (11:00 pm in Lisbon) and 12:00 pm on Wednesday.

In the islands of Faial, Pico, São Jorge, Graciosa and Terceira, the yellow warning has been in effect since 6:00 am and will be valid until midnight today.

The yellow warning, the least severe on a scale of three, is issued by the IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities dependent on the weather.
