On Monday, the platform sent a counterproposal to the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI) so that the changes to the service and risk supplement in the security forces are discussed in the next round of negotiations, which will take place on June 3rd.

The spokesperson for the platform that brings together 11 PSP and GNR structures, Bruno Pereira, told Lusa that the police continue to defend the proposal initially presented to the MAI, now defending that the 600 euros increase be paid in phases between this year and 2025.

The platform wants the fixed part of the current service and risk supplement in the security forces to go from the current 100 to 700 euros, maintaining the variable part of 20% of the base salary.

The president of the National Union of Police Officers also stated that this is the counterproposal to the latest proposal presented by the Government to the PSP unions and GNR associations last week.

In the last round of negotiations, the Minister of Internal Administration proposed changing the supplement that already exists in the fixed part from 100 to 280 euros, an increase of 180 euros.

In this sense, the platform proposes 120 euros more than this latest government proposal, which would be paid this year, and a new increase of 300 euros in 2025.

Currently, the service and risk supplement in the security forces includes a fixed component of 100 euros and a variable of 20% of the base salary.

Bruno Pereira also told Lusa that this amount should be paid retroactively to January 2024.

Last week, the PSP unions and GNR associations were again dissatisfied with the proposal presented by the Minister of Internal Administration, Margarida Blasco, which they considered "the value too low".

Since the negotiations began in April, the Government has presented three proposals for supplements to the police.
