In a press conference after signing a cooperation agreement valid for ten years with the Portuguese Government, Zelensky stressed that Russia "works a lot on hybrid warfare" and specifically in the field of disinformation, considering it important that "the world does not get tired", because justice is at stake.

"Otherwise, there will be no justice and the world will be ruled by people like [Russian President Vladimir] Putin, which would be madness," commented Zelensky, responding alongside the Portuguese Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, to a question about a possible fatigue of Kyiv's allies.

In his statements, the Ukrainian leader expressed satisfaction that "so far global solidarity has been maintained" in support of Ukraine, despite the attempts he attributes to Moscow to break it through disinformation campaigns and the spreading of lies.

The cooperation and security agreement signed today on the occasion of Zelensky's visit to Lisbon provides for Portugal's commitment to provide Kyiv with military support of at least 126 million euros this year, including financial and in-kind contributions.

In this agreement, signed in São Bento between the Portuguese Prime Minister and the Ukrainian President, with a ten-year horizon, it is also stressed that "Portugal will contribute with additional military support for Ukraine, including that to be agreed within the framework of the European Union, NATO and other relevant international fora".

For Zelensky, the agreements signed with the Portuguese Government and before that with Belgium and Spain are a sign that international solidarity "is not just rhetoric, but practical" and contradicts the Kremlin's efforts.

The Ukrainian President also referred to his peace initiative, which will bring together dozens of countries, including Portugal, in Switzerland next month, where three essential points will be addressed that he said are in accordance with international law.

In a recent interview, Zelensky mentioned three issues that will be negotiated in Switzerland: free navigation in the Black Sea, to protect global food security, allowing cereal exports from Ukraine; an agreement on an appeal to end attacks on energy infrastructures; and the return to Ukraine of thousands of children deported to Russia.

"At least we have to start somewhere to get more countries together and that's why I think this choice was right," the Ukrainian President noted today, explaining that the three points will be sent to Moscow later: "Let's see what they will do and if they will be able to implement them after that summit," he added.

Zelensky stressed that an agreement on the export of cereals in the Black Sea had worked before, thanks to the efforts of the UN and Turkey, but ended up being broken by Russia, when global food security was at stake.

"Russia does not respect the world itself," said Zelensky, who hopes, however, that if the three points agreed in Switzerland are fulfilled, others may be discussed from then on.
