Today, on the sidelines of her first parliamentary hearing, the minister told Lusa that the work is practically concluded.

"We are working, the deadline would end on the 2nd, we have a Council of Ministers on the 3rd, hopefully we will be able to discuss it then, it will also depend on the calendar, but in any case we are concluding the work. We heard many people, many entities, we also received some written contributions and we are in the final stretch of what will be an anti-corruption agenda", she said.

Without wanting to advance concrete measures, Rita Alarcão Júdice said that the work followed the announced logic of improving "what is not working so well" for a "more effective response in the fight against corruption", without "reframing the entire legal framework".

It is certain that the parties will have to be heard again, after having already been consulted, at the start of the consultation process that involved various entities, such as foundations, non-governmental organizations, associations, among others.

"We will have to talk to the parties. We will certainly talk to the parties, we have to define what the best way to do it will be", said the minister, specifying the need to discuss the implementation of measures and to obtain party consensus for all changes that have to go through parliament.

In April, when the hearing of the parties was taking place, conducted by the Minister of Justice together with the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Pedro Duarte, Rita Alarcão Júdice signaled signs of consensus with the parties on the fight against corruption, namely in the matter of regulating lobbying, having stressed that constitutionality would be the "red line" throughout the process.
