23-year-old man dies in motorcycle accident in Beja village
A 23-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was driving skidded off the road on Thursday night in a village in the municipality of Beja, sources from Civil Protection and the fire department reported today.

The source of the Sub-Regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection of Baixo Alentejo told the Lusa agency that the accident, for which the alert was given at 11:28pm on Thursday, occurred on Rua José Vargas, in the village of Baleizão.
Contacted by Lusa, the commander of the Beja Fire Department, Pedro Barahona, said that the man was transported to the city hospital in resuscitation maneuvers, and his death was confirmed at the health unit.
The rescue operations involved the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) and the GNR, in addition to the Beja Fire Department, with a total of eight operatives, supported by three vehicles, including an emergency medical and resuscitation vehicle (VMER).
