"Never feel like lesser partners in this coalition, because we are not, we are allies", he stated in his first speech before the 31st CDS-PP Congress, which is taking place between today and Sunday in Viseu.

Nuno Melo, who is running again for the party leadership, presented the global strategy motion that he submitted to this major meeting.

In his speech, during which he received several standing ovations, Nuno Melo stated that CDS-PP added "votes and mandates" to AD and argued that the party also contributes its uniqueness.

In the future, the leader wants CDS-PP to embrace "new unavoidable causes of the 21st century" and indicated that he will modernise communication and language in order to "attract more young people".

"CDS is not an old party, it is a modern party that has answers to the problems that they feel", he argued.
