According to the party's statement, released today, the criminal complaint against Mamadou Ba will be filed with the Department of Investigation and Criminal Prosecution (DIAP) in Lisbon, for the crimes of defamation and discrimination and incitement to hatred and violence.

According to the ADN, the activist made a post on social network X (formerly Twitter) on April 17, in which he referred to the party as the "reincarnation of the moribund PDR of the sulphurous Marinho Pinto" and as "a group led by the ineffable Bruno Fialho, a misogynistic, racist and xenophobic reactionary".

"Mamadou Ba, by writing the aforementioned publications, deliberately lied and attacked the honour and dignity of Bruno Fialho, injuring him in his personal dignity and social consideration, since neither the party president nor the ADN are far-right, on the contrary, they are against this left/right dichotomy that only divides people, and would never appeal or agree with racist or xenophobic ideologies or positions", defends the ADN in a statement.

In the document, the party also accuses Mamadou Ba, "leader of an association that supposedly should fight against racism", of promoting "another type of racism, a racism against Caucasian Portuguese".

Mamadou Ba recently saw the Lisbon Court of Appeal annul a first instance conviction, ordering a retrial in which he is accused of defamation against neo-Nazi militant Mário Machado, also for a publication on social networks, in which he pointed to Mário Machado as one of the main figures in the murder of Alcindo Monteiro, a young black man murdered by far-right militants on June 10, 1995, in Bairro Alto, in Lisbon.
