Former PSD leader Rui Rio commented on Wednesday on the news that the President of the Republic has cut ties with his son, Nuno Rebelo de Sousa, following the controversial case of the Luso-Brazilian twins who received millionaire treatment at the Santa Maria Hospital, suggesting that father and son may have "agreed to publish" the matter in the newspapers today.
"When a father and son agree to publish this in the newspapers, it is not pretty, but when they do not, it will be even worse", wrote the former PSD president on the social network X, formerly Twitter.
"In the light of my values, either possibility is very difficult to understand", added Rui Rio.
It should be recalled that the information that Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and Nuno Rebelo de Sousa are at odds, initially disclosed by the newspaper Público, was reported by the Correio Braziliense newspaper, which quotes the President of the Republic.
"It is unforgivable, because he knows that I have a public and political position, and I pay for it. There are worse things in life. I do not know if he will be held responsible, I am not interested", Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa is said to have said in a conversation with foreign journalists, referring to the alleged involvement of his son Nuno in the controversial case.
