Dismissal of the board of Santa Casa is "deeply radical and unusual"
In the PS's opinion, the goal is to replace the current people in charge of positions with people "more politically aligned and domesticated" by Luís Montenegro's Executive.

The vice-president of the PS parliamentary group, Tiago Barbosa Ribeiro, argued that the Government of Luís Montenegro is "creating a set of cases" and "instability" to replace those responsible for positions with people "more politically aligned and domesticated" by the current Executive, "as was the case of the executive management of the NHS".
Regarding the dismissal of the Board of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (SCML), the socialist deputy stressed that this is a "deeply radical and unusual decision", as well as "worrying".
"As we know, the new board had been in office for about a year and a process of restructuring and financial rebalancing of the institution was being carried out and nothing suggested a decision of this nature", he said, adding that the Government, "from one moment to the next, found a set of false arguments to dismiss the entire management of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia and to do so on the basis of naturally replacing it with a set of leaders who are politically aligned with the Government, as we will have the opportunity to scrutinize and monitor over the coming months".
In this sense, as had already been announced, the PS submitted, on Monday, to the Assembly of the Republic (AR) a request for an urgent hearing of the now former-trustee of the Santa Casa de Lisboa, Ana Jorge, as well as the Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, Maria do Rosário Palma Ramalho.
It should be recalled that, on Monday, the Government dismissed the board of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, considering that it was "incapable" of resolving the "serious financial problems of the SCML.
