Televisions propose three debates with everyone and a PS and AD face-to-face
The new proposal for debates for the European elections sent by the television channels to the parties foresees three debates with all the forces with parliamentary seats and a face-to-face between the Socialist Party and the Democratic Alliance, party sources told Lusa today.

The new proposal sent on Sunday by RTP, SIC and TVI includes debates with the eight top candidates of the parties with parliamentary seats simultaneously on May 14, 21 and 28 and a head-to-head between PS and Aliança Democrática (a coalition that brings together PSD, CDS-PP and PPM) on the 23rd, according to party sources.
Expresso reported on May 3 that the PS and Aliança Democrática (AD) rejected the debate model proposed by RTP, SIC and TVI for the European elections of June 9, in which 28 head-to-head debates were planned between the top candidates of the parties with representation in the Assembly of the Republic.
The PS and the AD, according to Expresso, justified the rejection of the model with the fact that it was a high number of duels, which would affect the electoral campaign, and admitted to accepting a lighter schedule.
The campaign for the European elections starts on May 27 and runs until June 7. The European elections are scheduled for June 9.
