Former Deputy Minister and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Miguel Relvas criticized, on Wednesday, the words of VINCI president José Luís Arnaut, who reportedly warned, in a private meeting, that it will be years before the new Lisbon airport is built.

"Portugal is not a third world country. The president of VINCI is French, he is European, he should know that in Portugal there is a rule of law, there are rules," Miguel Relvas began by saying, in statements on the same television channel.

In the same space, he assured that the case is "unacceptable" and waved with a call to Parliament by José Luís Arnaut, "to have the courage to come and say in public what was learned from a secret meeting with investors because the minutes were caught".

"Imagine that it was a Portuguese company in France and the Portuguese president of that Portuguese company was going to hold a meeting in France and said this about the political decision-making power of the French. The scandal and the consequences that would be drawn," theorized the former minister and political commentator, for whom "VINCI has to take consequences" and "the Portuguese Government has to be very clear and very objective".

In the same television space, which he shares with the socialist Álvaro Beleza, Miguel Relvas also defended that the new airport should be called Mário Soares, and not Luís de Camões, as planned. "In the 50 years of the 25th of April it would be a fair tribute," he considered.
