The head of the Socialist Party (PS) list for the European elections, Marta Temido, marked the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia by reaffirming the rights of LGBTQI people for "an egalitarian and free Europe for all".
"Today, we reaffirm that LGBTQI rights are human rights. In Portugal and in the European Parliament, the PS leads the defense of these principles. All socialist candidates to the European Parliament signed the 'Come Out For Europe' commitment, in favor of the defense and equality of rights for LGBTI people", declared the former Minister of Health in a publication on the social network X (former Twitter).
Temido guarantees that the socialists will be "always on the right side of history", being "committed to an egalitarian and free Europe for all", a Europe that they will "continue to defend intransigently without hesitation".

It is worth remembering that May 17 was established by the Assembly of the Republic, in 2015, as the National Day against Homophobia and Transphobia, reflecting the Parliament's commitment to fulfilling national and international commitments to combat homophobic and transphobic discrimination.
