Former PSD president Rui Rio reacted on Sunday to the result of the regional elections in Madeira, which gave victory to the PSD but without a majority.
The former social-democratic leader highlighted on social network X that "just as in the Republic, also in Madeira, the people explained that the dissolution of Parliament and the early (and difficult to understand) holding of new elections, generated more political instability and, consequently, more problems for the country", in a clear reference to the decision of the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, to call elections.
"But, anyway, whoever can, commands", he also said in the same tweet.
Tal como na República, também na Madeira, o povo explicou que a dissolução do Parlamento e a realização precoce (e de difícil compreensão) de novas eleições, gerou mais instabilidade política e, por consequência, mais problemas para o País. Mas, enfim, manda quem pode.

It should be recalled that the PSD won the early regional legislative elections in Madeira (but without an absolute majority), which were called after Miguel Albuquerque was made a defendant in a corruption case.
