The campaign for the European elections continues to be marked, this Tuesday, by the political situation in Madeira. From Olhão, in the Algarve, André Ventura defended that the voters left "a clear message" in the regional elections, which were held last Sunday, May 26, that "they want the PSD, but they do not want Miguel Albuquerque" and that, therefore, the party must choose another name to govern the archipelago.

"A responsible politician, as Miguel Albuquerque himself said, now has the duty to be coherent and responsible. Will he allow a situation of instability in Madeira or will he put Madeira above his ego and his personal position and let Madeira have a stable government? What happened yesterday is a good sign, besides the desperation, that the threat is just around the corner and that if we do not pay attention and do not respect the vote of the voters, the JPP and the PS may even try to form a government. They will not do it because Chega will not allow it, but they could try to do it," he stressed, admitting to making an agreement with the PSD if the name is different.

"The last warning, the challenge I launch to the PSD is to look at the situation in Madeira and see that, at this moment, Miguel Albuquerque is not the solution, he is the problem and that if we do not have Miguel Albuquerque and we have a credible, strong name, above any suspicion, we can have a government," he said.

It should be recalled that, last Sunday, the PSD won the elections in Madeira, but without an absolute majority.
