'The Social Network' Writer Wants to Make a New Movie About Facebook
Aaron Sorkin said the U.S. Capitol invasion will be a focus of the film.

Aaron Sorkin, the writer behind ‘The Social Network’ about the creation of Facebook, has revealed that he is working on a follow-up to the 2010 film.
The Hollywood Reporter says the news was shared by Sorkin during an interview on The Town podcast, with the focus said to be on how Facebook (and other social media) has impacted democracies.
Sorkin went as far as to say that the January 6, 2021 invasion of the US Capitol will be a focus of the film. “Yes, I will write about that. I blame Facebook for January 6,” Sorkin said.
The writer said the project is still in its early stages and that a script has not yet been completed. Similarly, it seems no studio is yet attached to the project, so there’s no guarantee that the film will make it to cinemas.
