SpaceX leader Elon Musk announced via his social network page X that he intends to provide aid to Brazilian emergency services that are dealing with the floods and damage in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
The entrepreneur said that SpaceX will donate a thousand terminals from the Starlink satellite Internet network, which will help ensure communications between emergency services and the affected populations.
“In light of the terrible floods in Rio Grande do Sul, Starlink is donating 1000 terminals to assist rescuers and will make the service free in the region until the recovery is complete. My best wishes to the people of Brazil”, wrote Musk.
It is worth remembering that since last week, Rio Grande do Sul has been affected by heavy rains, resulting in floods and damage in the order of many millions of euros.
