APDC launches "literacy program" in AI in partnership with Google
The APDC, in partnership with Google, today launched the AI Impulse, an "innovative training program in literacy" in artificial intelligence that aims to give professionals from various sectors the skills needed to use this technology.

The launch was made on the first day of the 33rd APDC Congress - Portuguese Association for the Development of Communications, which is taking place in Lisbon.
"Composed of eight courses, Impulso IA offers a unique opportunity to acquire fundamental skills in AI, allowing participants to automate tasks and focus on strategic and creative aspects of their work", says the association, which is celebrating 40 years of existence.
These eight courses address topics ranging from marketing strategy and artificial intelligence (AI), such as introduction to the 'cloud' or leadership in the digital age, among other topics.
"The start of this training program is scheduled for June, covering approximately 10 training sessions given by specialized trainers, which will run until March 2025" and the goal is to train 1,000 people.
"Interested parties can already express their interest in receiving more information about Impulso IA on the APDC 'website'" and the program is intended for students, civil servants and decision-making professionals, such as marketing managers, sales representatives and analysts, and the program is accessible to all, regardless of previous experience in AI.
It has an average duration of two hours per course, "the sessions will preferably be face-to-face, but can also be offered in a hybrid format" and participants who attend in person will receive a certificate of participation.
The 33rd APDC Congress has the motto "40 years Futurizing" and features artificial intelligence.
The event, which ends on Wednesday, will have the State of the Nation of the Media and Communications debate in the afternoon.
