Google Will Expand Use of System to Identify AI-Generated Content
Up to this point, the SynthID system could only be used for images.

The CEO of Google's DeepMind division, SynthID, took to the stage at the I/O opening keynote to announce that the tool that can identify AI-generated content – also called SynthID – will be expanding to cover more formats.
The system, which was previously only able to identify images created by generative AI, will now be able to do the same for videos. It's worth noting that the 'watermark' left by SynthID is not perceptible by humans but can be detected by digital systems.
In addition to videos, the system will also be able to flag audio content, which could be particularly useful in combating misinformation.
