PS5 sold five times more than rival Xbox in early 2024
Analyst Daniel Ahmad says the gap between the two consoles has widened “significantly” over the past year.

Sony’s PlayStation 5 sold five times more than Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and Series S during the first quarter of 2024, says analyst Daniel Ahmad of Niko Partners on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
“PlayStation 5 sold 4.5 million units last quarter. By our estimates, this is almost 5x more than Xbox Series X|S during the same period,” notes Ahmad.
The analyst also mentions in another publication that the total difference between the two platforms is not so noticeable in total, stating that in the first quarter it has widened “significantly”.
