'Shōgun' will continue with two more seasons
It was supposed to be a miniseries, but the success seems to have been even greater than expected.

FX and Disney’s Hulu have announced that ‘Shōgun’, which was initially launched as a limited series, will (after all) be entitled to two more seasons, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The announcement was expected, because in recent days information began to circulate indicating that the actor (and protagonist) Hiroyuki Sanada had already reached an agreement to play Yoshii Toranaga.
FX and Hulu have already made it clear that they will work together with those responsible for James Clavell’s work, thus seeking to continue the story in a way that does justice to the original book.
The decision to continue developing the world of ‘Shōgun’ makes clear the success that the series has had on Disney+, becoming FX’s most-watched series ever after its launch on the streaming service.
