Civil Protection activates resources in the face of "possible meteorite fall"
Civil Protection this morning activated means for the area of Castro Daire, district of Viseu, to respond to a "possible meteorite fall", a source from the rescue organization told Lusa.

"There was indeed an alert of a possible meteorite fall, but it has not been confirmed yet", said a source from the Viseu Dão Lafões Sub-regional Command at around 01:20.
Five vehicles assisted by 18 operators are in the area of Pereira and the Montemuro mountain range, in Castro Daire, "where reports emerged", he added.
"Since people reported seeing a flash in an antenna area, we are also patrolling the wind farms around there and so far there is no information from the teams on the ground", he said.
Lusa contacted the Castro Daire firefighters, but the corporation, which is on the ground, said it still has no information from the site.
Shortly before midnight, reports began to emerge on social media about a flash sighted in several Portuguese cities.
