Meteor lit up the skies of Portugal. Know what the color says about it
The color of these fireballs is a valuable clue for astronomers to learn more about these celestial bodies.

On Saturday night, the 18th, a meteor crossed the skies of Portugal - a phenomenon that lit up the night sky and surprised everyone who witnessed it.
Videos of the passage of this 'fireball' were shared throughout the rest of the weekend and, among the details that most aroused the curiosity of internet users, is the color composed of a mixture of green and blue.
The Space.com website says that this detail is directly linked to the composition of this 'fireball', more precisely to the chemical composition. In this case, being green and blue, it is assumed that the fireball is composed of magnesium, which burns on entering the Earth's atmosphere with this hue.
It is worth remembering that it is extremely unlikely that the 'fireball' survived entering the Earth's atmosphere and it is believed that it disintegrated at an altitude of 54 km already over the Atlantic Ocean.
