TikTok purchase could reach one hundred billion dollars
However, the purchase of the platform may not include the acquisition of the algorithm that is the basis of the social network's success.

After the law that forces the sale of TikTok by the Chinese ByteDance was signed, Wired now says that candidates interested in buying the platform must be willing to ‘give up’ a large sum.
The publication states that, according to the latest estimates, TikTok could be sold for a hundred billion dollars. However, it should be stressed that TikTok buyers will not have the right to the algorithm that ‘feeds’ the For You feed and suggests new videos - which is considered by many to be the source of TikTok's success.
This is because the Chinese government has placed legal restrictions on the sale of TikTok's algorithm, a ban that comes in the wake of export limits on certain technologies.
Even so, interest in buying TikTok remains high and some candidates even believe that the algorithm can be rebuilt once the purchase is complete.
