Apple will contest €1.8bn EU fine
The company announced that it has decided to proceed with legal action.

The European Commission announced in March its decision to fine Apple 1.8 billion euros, accusing the company of “abusing its dominant position in the market for the distribution of music streaming applications to iPhone and iPad users through its App Store”.
Now, Bloomberg says that Apple has decided to challenge this decision by the European Commission, and is also appealing the decision and the (heavy) fine imposed by the European regulator with a lawsuit.
It is worth remembering that this fine originated from an investigation initiated after a complaint filed by Spotify, which was dissatisfied that Apple did not disclose to users the existence of alternatives in the form of paying for subscriptions.
