China boosts investment in semiconductor manufacturing
This third phase concerns a state investment equivalent to 43.7 billion euros.

China has created a third support fund for the semiconductor manufacturing industry, which is worth the equivalent of €43.7 billion.
The Reuters says that the aim of Xi Jinping's government is to make China self-sufficient in the production of semiconductors - thus seeking to circumvent the sanctions imposed on Chinese companies by the US, which fears that these components will be used in more advanced military equipment.
It is worth remembering that the first phase of this fund was established in 2014, with the second taking place in 2019. However, this third phase is by far the largest in terms of amount.
