Microsoft announced this Monday, June 3, that it will lay off another thousand employees, who were mainly part of the mixed reality division (HoloLens) and also in the area responsible for the Azure cloud platform.
A Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement to The Verge website that this situation is a "restructuring" and that the technology company remains "committed to the Department of Defense's Visual Augmentation System program [of the US]" in which the mixed reality division was involved.
It is worth remembering that last year, Microsoft laid off more than 10,000 employees, but even with this number of employees leaving the company, the trend seems to continue.
